New Peugeot 308 | Interior design explained by Gilles Vidal

One world to describe the new Peugeot308:intuitive.
It's the most complex and difficult part of car design.
Everyone must be able to use it in an intuitive way.
For the new Peugeot308,we wanted a freshness and creativity, but rigour and control.
There are many unique things about the cockpit.
It's very innovative.
We've called it Peugeot i-Cockpit.
We're looking for the ideal ergonomic for driving.
So instruments are near the road.
The contour is reversed in relation to the speedometer.
The driver's attention is drawn to the centre and the road ahead.
Everyone wants a small steering wheel.
Your hands travel less distance, which affects how you feel in the car.
The dashboard is uncluttered, quite minimalist, with most functions on the touchscreen.
The driver can concentrate on driving.
It's a triangle.
Perfect ergonomics,we feel.
We must make it so people don't have to think abouto it.
And then the emotional side.
The more traditional, the sensual aspect of the car.
Everything matters.
The feel,the look,the sound,the smell.
It's a highly refined and detailed design so that the finished oblect is easy to use for the client and the driver.

New Peugeot 308 | Exterior design explained by Gilles Vidal

A designer is like a sponge, taking inspiration from everywhere, and expressing himself using his own creativity.
The challenge for Peugeot is to design cars that can be sketched with 3 lines, instantly recognisable.
They don't look like any other car.
And when you look closer, you find sophisticated toches.
The approach we took with the exterior design involved lightening.
We first work on two aspects:the overall proportions of the car,and the the front.
So dynamic and balanced proportions.
At the same time,we created this muscle which builds over the rear wheel,to give the car a strong foundation, with grounded wheels, and LED headlights which are smaller, which gives us a different look to the bumper.
At Peugeot we aim to achieve a balance between all the technology and the human side.
we want to be able to look into the car's eyes,to have a sensual relationship with the car.
